Sarah Fleming

About

As a senior analyst for Benchmark International, Sarah sources buyers that are qualified for our clients’ businesses. She loves building relationships with our buyers, which allows her to customize deals that are well aligned within their investment criteria. She also provides support to our associates regarding research and implementation of major transaction processes.

Sarah is originally from Richmond, VA and grew up in Kill Devil Hills, NC. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. While in college, she worked in marketing for a student housing community for 3 years. This led to a 13-year career in multifamily property management. She served in various positions that ranged from marketing and outreach to business management of the communities during her tenure.

Experience

During her many years in property management, Sarah touched every aspect of the business. In her last four years, she managed larger properties (500+ doors) and served a region of Richmond, VA. She was able to participate in both buy-side and sell-side due diligence transactions. It was here that she developed an interest in M&A, and the unique culture and expertise of Benchmark International was very appealing to her. Sarah finds great satisfaction in completing tasks and collaborating to improve processes in order to provide great service to our clients. Every day, and every client or buyer interaction, is a chance for her to look at processes with a fresh set of eyes to improve the experience for all involved.

Passion

In addition to caring for her three young boys, Sarah has a passion for helping people in any way she can. She enjoys making connections with others through service. In college, she interned for the volunteer services program for the local area hospital. She also wrote grants and ran programs to help the underserved prepare to enter the workforce. She has also developed a passion for growing and supporting next generation leadership. With Benchmark International, she loves helping clients move on from their business to their next stage in life and follow their dreams.

Sarah is always seeking opportunities to contribute and raise awareness for organizations such as the Parkinson’s Foundation and the American Red Cross. She also enjoys traveling, the outdoors, cooking, fishing, and the beach.
