Benchmark International Has Successfully Facilitated the Transaction Between EnergyEffizienz GmbH and naturstrom AG

Benchmark International is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of Lampertheim-based EnergyEffizienz GmbH by naturstrom AG.

Founded in 2010, EnergyEffizienz GmbH is a specialist in the development and implementation of forward-thinking energy concepts. Its service portfolio includes municipal heat planning, climate protection and neighbourhood strategies, feasibility studies, energy consulting, construction support, and environmental education projects. The company primarily serves public sector clients, as well as private individuals and businesses throughout Germany.

naturstrom AG, headquartered in Düsseldorf, is Germany’s largest independent provider of green electricity. Founded over 25 years ago, the company champions a decentralised energy model powered entirely by renewable sources. With more than 500 employees across 15 locations, naturstrom AG continues to expand its capabilities and partnerships to accelerate Germany’s energy transition.

This acquisition represents a natural strategic fit, uniting two organisations committed to sustainable energy solutions. The transaction includes 100% of the shares held by EnergyEffizienz’s seven shareholders. Two of the shareholders, Daniel Jung and Dr. Philipp Schönberger, will remain with the business as managing directors to ensure a smooth integration and to harness synergies between the companies.
