Sharné Reeves

About

Ms. Reeves grew up in Cape Town, South Africa where she always demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit by coming up with new business ideas to make some pocket money.

Taking her love for business throughout life, Sharné started interning at a private equity firm whilst studying for her undergrad degree as she wanted to apply what she was learning to real world scenarios.

At Benchmark International, Sharné works on the Transactions Team, ensuring her clients are prepared throughout the whole deal cycle. She project manages a portfolio of sell-side M&A mandates by providing strategic advisory to Irish SMEs, including the preparation of client marketing materials, sourcing of potential buyers, financial modelling, and due diligence.

Success

Sharné has had many successes at Benchmark International, quickly rising through the ranks from analyst to deal preparation manager within eight months. Now she manages a whole portfolio of clients, where Sharné has seen several businesses through to a successful completion.

Experience

From completing her undergrad, Sharné went straight into a full-time job working for a private equity firm in South Africa whilst studying for an MSc in Finance. Here she worked with an international team from Malta, Australia, the UK, and Eastern Europe, evaluating new investment opportunities, carrying out commercial and financial due diligence, and modelling various types of deal structures using different valuation methodologies. After working on the buy-side for five years, Sharné wished to move to the sell-side and step into the shoes of the entrepreneur. In her role at Benchmark, Sharné is able to bring a lot of insight and valuable feedback to her clients.

Passion

Sharné is passionate about working with entrepreneurs. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, she is aware of the blood, sweat and tears that goes into building a business. As this is the case, she is passionate about getting the best value for her clients and guiding them throughout their journey.

HOBBIES

Outside of Benchmark International, Sharné has several hobbies including hiking, surfing, cooking, and baking. She is talented at Irish dancing, having won two gold medals at the South African Championships.
