About

Originally from Cork, Mr. McNamee joined Benchmark International in 2017, drawn to the opportunity to help establish the company in Ireland from the ground up. From the outset, he played a central role in building that business from scratch. This included completing the first Irish deal from a dedicated Irish office, which helped set the standard for the office going forward. Under his leadership, the office grew steadily in capability and reputation, ranking fourth in deal volume in Ireland in recent years. This performance was driven by discipline, clear standards and a strong focus on delivering the right outcomes for clients. More recently, Sam worked closely with Benchmark International’s South African business, playing a key role in supporting the reorganisation and development of both the Johannesburg and the Stellenbosch office.

He now leads Benchmark International’s expansion into the Iberian market, overseeing the development of the business across the region.

Sam has overseen a number of successful transactions, achieving high praise from clients starting from his very first deal which involved the acquisition of Office Technology (Irl) by Intuity Technologies.

Since then, the Cork office has seen several successful transactions, with stand-out deals including the acquisition of Writech Industrial Services Limited & Writech Manufacturing by Waterland Private Equity, the acquisition of Labplan by ADDvise (winner of Cross-Border Deal at the M&A Advisor Awards), Bunzl’s acquisition of GH Pittman, and the sale of O’Flynn Medical to Healthcare21.
