René grew up in Kirkland, Washington, and earned his undergraduate degree in Business from the University of Washington. He later completed executive programs at Stanford University and went on to receive his master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in technology innovation and global leadership. A first-generation American and dual Swiss citizen, René was raised by Swiss parents who instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, integrity, and perseverance. His father, a self-made entrepreneur, established a hair salon in downtown Seattle, exemplifying the values of hard work and independence that shaped René’s outlook. René began his entrepreneurial journey at an early age, managing a paper route for The Seattle Times for five years. As one of the publication’s top producers, he developed early experience in sales and small business operations—foundational lessons that have informed his leadership approach and professional success throughout his career.
