Benchmark International are proud to announce that we have been nominated for an award at Insider’s prestigious Dealmakers award ceremony which will take place on 24 October 2013 at Manchester Central.
Award nominations were selected from a large number of entries by an independent panel of judges including industry and academic experts such as Barry Nightingale, finance director, Betfred; Mark Mills, entrepreneur/chairman, Activate; Prof Ruth Ashford, Manchester Metropolitan University; Rob Cotton, chief executive, NCC Group; Judith McMath, director, Burdale Financial; and Paresh Majithia, finance director, Timpson. Any vested interests were declared.
Our ‘Deal of the Year’ nomination relates to the successful sale of the Manchester-based document management company Archive Solutions to AIM listed support services company Restore plc for £3.35m.
One thing that made this deal particularly special is that Restore plc actually placed a bid for the company just 12 months earlier but for the much smaller figure of £1.2m. Following instruction, Benchmark International marketed the opportunity extensively generating significant levels of interest and competitive tension surrounding the deal.
Not only did Benchmark International negotiate the cash on completion to be more than double the initial figure offered, we negotiated an additional £700k above the £2.65m base deal in case of exceeding targets.
Needless to say, we are looking forward to the award ceremony and extremely excited about the possibility of winning such a prestigious award.
