Overview
Outreach Analyst/Senior Analyst
Job Description
Benchmark International is seeking business professionals to join its sell-side mergers and
acquisitions (M&A) teams as Deal Transaction Analyst or Senior Analyst.
From day one, our analysts gain hands-on experience in the deal execution process, developing
negotiation skills, mastering valuation concepts, and supporting clients through the full transaction
lifecycle. Analysts work directly with business owners, private equity firms, corporate development
teams, and strategic acquirers to move deals from engagement to closing.
This role requires effective communication skills, resilience, and the ability to hold your own in
discussions with executives and investment professionals. Analysts manage multiple projects across
industries simultaneously, ensuring buyers remain engaged and transactions progress toward
favorable outcomes for our clients.
Unlike origination roles, Benchmark’s transaction teams begin work once an engagement is signed
and carry responsibility through to closing. This structure allows analysts to focus exclusively on
executing transactions and managing the portfolio of active client mandates.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a front-line contact for clients (business owners selling their companies) and
potential acquirers. - Manage early-stage deal execution, including acquirer introductions, NDA negotiations, and
facilitation of buyer access to client materials. - Coordinate buyer–seller communications, including conference calls, site visits, and follow-
ups, with the goal of advancing buyers toward offers. - Respond to and manage buyer due diligence inquiries, escalating to senior team members or
clients as needed. - Develop and maintain relationships with private equity funds, venture capital groups, family
offices, and strategic acquirers. - Support the preparation and refinement of client marketing materials and acquiring target
lists. - Maintain accurate records in the firm’s CRM system to track deal activity and progress.
- Conduct industry and market research to inform transaction strategy and buyer targeting.
- Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations to communicate findings and deal updates
to the team and clients.
Job Requirements
As an Analyst/Senior Analyst, you must bring high energy, passion, and a motivated, can-do attitude,
coupled with a strong desire to succeed in the dynamic M&A industry. Success in this role requires
exceptional communication, analytical, mathematical, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
This is a client-facing position working exclusively with existing clients. Analysts/Senior Analyst must
be able to deliver both positive and challenging news with professionalism and empathy, while
guiding clients through the sale process at a steady and productive pace.
Education/Training/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, one-year related experience, and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
Specific qualifications for the Deal Analyst include:
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to address and respond effectively to clients, buyers,
managers, and stakeholders. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver information in a
professional, persuasive, and empathetic manner. - Strong prioritization, organizational, and time management skills; capable of handling multiple
projects simultaneously. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and skilled in conducting online
research using platforms such as PitchBook, PrivCo, DealNexus, IBISWorld, Hoovers, OneSource,
CorpFin, and First Research. - Commercial acumen and a clear understanding of the M&A process and industry dynamics.
Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours to meet client and transaction
needs. - Willingness to travel for short overnight trips on short notice (typically no longer than two days).
Ability to obtain a Real Estate Salesperson License within prescribed time of employment
(company-sponsored). - No unfavorable history with FINRA, the SEC, or any state regulatory agency.
- On-site presence required, Monday through Friday (this is not a remote or hybrid role).
- Professional presence and demeanor consistent with Benchmark International’s image and
standards. - Professional business attire required.
Salary
Analysts receive a competitive base salary in the range of $45,000 - $55,000 annually based
on candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. This position also offers
commissions directly tied to closed-deal revenue. In addition, high-performing team members are
eligible for an annual bonus based on overall success. With consistent strong performance, total
annual compensation could reach $74,500, and exceptional results can exceed this range.
Benefits
All Benchmark International positions offer paid time off, standard holidays, birthday holidays, and
community service days. Employees are eligible for highly competitive company-subsidized
medical, dental, vision, and AD&D insurance; 401k with company matching; flexible spending and
health savings accounts (FSA & HSA); and flexible dependent care assistance accounts.
Social Responsibility

The company participates in significant charitable giving opportunities throughout the year. Many
