Staff Accountant
Job Description
Benchmark International’s global headquarters in Tampa is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, experience with Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism. This role works closely with the CFO and other departments to ensure timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.
Job Responsibilities
As a Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations for multiple legal entities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
- Assist the CFO with preparing entity-level and consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Support the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports within specified deadlines.
- Prepare FP&A reports using a combination of financial and statistical accounts on a quarterly basis.
- Perform Bank Account and Credit Card Reconciliation through Sage integration.
- Accounts payable and receivables.
- Enter accounting transactions into Sage Intacct.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Generate client payment requests and receipts.
- Process client credit card payments.
- Review expense reports to make sure they are in line with company policy.
- Assist with cost control across all entities.
- Manage yearly insurance audit reporting.
- Prepare individual 1099 forms for tax reporting each year.
- Scan all receipts into Sage Intacct.
- Identify areas for process improvements and automation within the department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- 2-3 years of experience using Sage Intacct.
- 1-2 years of experience using QuickBooks Online.
- High level of professionalism with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Sage Intacct, and QuickBooks Online.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting principles.
- Experience preparing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Experience with multi-entity businesses with an understanding of intercompany accounting and consolidation principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work full-time in the office as this is not a remote or hybrid position.
- Professional business attire is required.
Salary
This position will receive an annual salary of $70,000-$85,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance throughout the interview process.
