Benchmark International Successfully Facilitated the Transaction Between Q&Q Control Services Limited and Socotec International Services Limited (SIS Inspections Group)

February 14, 2025

Benchmark International is pleased to announce the acquisition of Q&Q Control Services Limited by SIS Inspections Group.

Based in Suffolk, Q&Q Control Services is an international cargo surveying company conducts testing, inspection, and analysis of oil and petroleum products in line with internationally recognized standards such as API, IP, ASTM, and ISO. The reports produced are accepted by all major oil companies and trading firms for letter of credit and insurance purposes. The company adheres to a proactive inspection policy, with inspectors actively involved in operations from start to finish. This includes accurately recording events, issuing protests, reporting upon operation completion, and collecting vital data for commercial decision-making and potential claims. Inspection begins before vessel arrival, ensuring cargo, ullage, and berth availability, with necessary clearances in place. Clients are kept fully informed of all factors that may impact operations.

SIS Inspections is a privately-owned, African company founded in Zimbabwe in 1992 in response to the drought crisis that affected the sub-continent. The unprecedented drought relief package led to a significant increase in life-saving imports, all of which required rigorous checks and verification upon arrival. This need led to the creation of SIS Inspections. Since then, SIS Inspections has expanded with new capital partners and an ever-growing inspection presence in over 20 African countries.

Now is the time to sell your business.

Q&Q Control Service’s Director, Russell Thompson, commented: “I would like to say a huge thank you to James & Alex and the rest of their colleagues for getting the sale over the line. The Company was not an easy sell, operating in the West African Oil & Gas sector as we do and after being hit badly by the pandemic, but we got there in the end, despite several false starts. I found Benchmark's help invaluable when actually negotiating the transaction and drawing up terms of sale to protect seller's interests.”
