Benchmark International Delivered over 300 meals with Austin Voices for Education and Youth

Earlier this week, Benchmark International spent the morning volunteering at a local middle school alongside Austin Voices for Education and Youth (AVEY).

This is an organization that works hard every day to strengthen schools, families, and neighborhoods across our city. Benchmark International’s mission was simple: to make sure families drove away with everything they needed. From prepping supplies to loading bags directly, Benchmark International focused on one goal: neighbors helping neighbors.

By the end of the event, volunteers had prepped enough food for 300 households and packed 50 additional bags for the school's afternoon pantry.

AVEY's reach across Austin is honestly staggering. In the past year alone, AVEY has:

  • Supported more than 15,249 families with food assistance
  • Distributed over 485,000 pounds of food
  • Supported 6,483 families through resource centers
  • Provided more than 14,455 children's books
  • Delivered 1,481 vaccinations at AVEY events
  • Raised $367,000 in emergency financial assistance
