US Benchmark Team Completes Tough Mudder for Charity

December 13, 2012

Members of the Benchmark US team, Steven Keane and Nick Perry, recently completed what many consider the world’s toughest obstacle race. The Tough Mudder is a grueling 12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces to test participants strength, stamina, mental grit, and above all camaraderie.

With over a half million participants worldwide, Tough Mudder has raised more than $3 million dollars for the Wounded Warrior Project. The project acts to serve wounded warriors and their families to nurture both mind and body to successfully integrate these heroes back into day to day life in our society. The Benchmark members were proud to take part in a challenge that serves such a dedicated and wonderful cause.

The course itself contains 25 military style obstacles spread out over a 12 mile course. A few obstacles included a 30 degree ice bath, consecutive 15 foot wooden walls, multiple crawls under barbed wire, a slick 15 foot quarter pipe known simply as Everest, and electrocution. Combined these obstacles tested the endurance and fears of all who dared to run.

The US team here at Benchmark looks forward to continuing their support of the Wounded Warrior Project next year, with even more competitors waving the Benchmark banner at the Tough Mudder event.
