Matt is originally from Randolph, NJ and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has lived in the Nashville area for the past 22 years, and he has been fortunate enough to be a part of the success of that area. Matt became aware of Benchmark International years ago and had a brief interaction with the leadership team. He watched Benchmark International grow to a formidable presence in the middle-market space which he mentioned is not an easy task to accomplish. He said when an opportunity was available to join the team, he jumped at the chance. He knew instantly that Benchmark International was where he belonged. Matt is the Transaction Director in the Nashville office, and one of his sole responsibilities is managing Tennessee’s portfolio. His dedication to helping clients realize a successful exit on their terms is unwavering. He mentions how selling a business is a process and not an event. He does not take for granted the trust clients place in Benchmark International during this process and greatly appreciates the opportunity they provide to the company.

Matt mentions that his motivation to work hard comes from a want and desire to always learn more about his position and about people. He also believes that sharing his knowledge with others helps him to be better at his job while encouraging others to succeed at theirs. In addition, Matt enjoys partnering with clients to help navigate them through the sales process to provide a successful sale.
Before Benchmark International, Matt operated his sell-side business brokerage focusing on healthcare-related companies. He’s also worked with several private equity firms sourcing opportunities in various industries. He has been involved with a few start-ups and can relate to Benchmark International’s clients regarding the selling process. He mentions that selling a business can be a very daunting task; the team at Benchmark International is very sensitive to this and does an exceptional job handling their client’s concerns.
As a Transaction Director, Matt’s responsibility is to manage the portfolio of Benchmark International’s clients. He works with both the support and deal teams to make sure they are representing the client’s best interests, ultimately culminating in a successful transaction.
