Chirag Patel

About

Chirag was born and raised in India, in the city and state of Baroda, Gujarat. When he was six years old, his parents moved to the United States to give their children better opportunities in life. He grew up in the small rural town of Franklin, NJ, later graduating Magna Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. He also spent a semester studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain, taking various international business courses. Mr. Patel works on our Major Transactions Team, representing large firms with revenues from $100m to $500m who are looking to sell their business.

Experience

Before joining Benchmark International, Chirag was on the M&A buy-side, working for a venture capital-backed IT managed service provider (MSP). The firm had a five-year plan to become the first AI-powered MSP serving SMBs nationally by building the platform through proprietary software development, organic growth, and acquisitions. As the M&A Manager, his responsibilities included M&A sourcing and execution, acquisition marketing, financial analysis, investment committee preparation, purchase agreement drafting, and leading the due diligence team. He also managed an 11-person integration team that coordinated diligence and integration across operations, finance/accounting, legal, HR, marketing, sales, and account management. These years of buy-side M&A experience enable Chirag to protect our clients, and teach them where and how a buyer is evaluating and devaluing their company.

Passion

In college, Chirag started an amazing organization and annual event called, “Not Just for 1” with the help of his fraternity and Quinnipiac campus. The goal was to educate people on the many different types of cancers that exist, and that patients aren't alone. The effort raised more than $15,000 in a month and a half for over 20 different cancer organizations.
